When in holiday you don't want to spend hour’s queuing. In one of the most visited monuments in the world the line can be as long as the Via Appia. And there is no low-season here! So how to skip the line?
There are differnt ways...
First always buy the ticket in advance, you can do it from here: http://www.coopculture.it/colosseo-e-shop.cfm .
Second suggestion: buy the Audioguide (5. 50 Euro) as you will do a different line to enter the Colosseum and it is worth it!
Third suggestion: not many knows that to skip the line at the COlosseum you can also buy the ticket at the Roman Forum ( https://www.google.com/maps/place/Biglietteria+Foro+Romanofirstname.lastname@example.org,12.485326,17z/data=!4m6!1m3!3m2!1s0x132f61b383a9cdef:0xfa914007c0ec7de6!2sRoman+Forum!3m1!1s0x0:0x8e28c5979ee9d6a6 ) here is the location !
The ticket is valid for 2 days and you can visit the Colosseum, the Forum ans the Palatine Hill.
The easiest way to get to the Colosseum from Bed and Breakfast Wrh Trastevere Rome is to walk through Tiber Island and take Via del Teatro Marcello. You will walk up to the Capitoline Hill (one of the "famous" 7 hills!) and get to the "Wedding Cake" (Altare della Patria) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altare_della_Patria
